Dr. Ming Qi, a student of Dr. C. C. Tan (foreign member of the US National Academy of Sciences) at Fudan University, and Dr. Peter Byers (former president of American Society of Human Genetics) and Dr. Arno Motulsky (member of the US National Academy of Sciences, “Co-father of Medical Genetics”). He is an American Board of Medical Genetics certified clinical molecular geneticist and a Fellow of American College of Medical Genetics. He is most recently joining the faculty of Zhejiang University School of Medicine and the James Watson Institute of Genomic Sciences (WIGS), as a professor and the founding director of Center for Genetic & Genomic Medicine. Dr. Qi is member of the American Society of Human Genetics, ACGA, AAAS, HUGO, Association for Molecular Pathology, SCBA. Dr. Qi's research interests include functional genomics, pharmacogenetics, pharmacogenomics, genetic testing, and molecular mechanisms of inherited diseases and cancers. He was a CUSBEA student of 1986, fellowship recipiant of the Children's Brittle Bone Foundation and the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation, and a HUGO lecturer.

Dr. Qi is an experienced clinical molecular geneticist, signing out thousands of reports on numerous genetic diseases and cancers. As the first Genetic Counselor and Clinical Molecular Geneticist Chinese License holder authorized by the Ministry of Health of P.R. China, he started the first Genetic & Genomic Clinic in China on October 8, 2005.

Dr. Qi has published many scientific research articles in peer-review journals, including Recent Progress in Hormone Research, Proc. Natl. Acad.Sci.USA, Nature Genetics, and Cell. Four of them were co-authored with Dr. Eric Kandel (2000 Nobel Price Laureate).
